We provide community support for young people and adults whose lives are affected by the experience of depression.

The Depression Support Network:

  • Provides community support for the youth and adults of Canterbury whose lives are affected by depression
  • Provides safe places where people can find empathy, acceptance and understanding
  • Provides for the generational, cultural diversity that exists in our community
  • Works with other organisations to facilitate better support for people
  • Facilitates awareness and knowledge of depression through education, presence and dialogue

We support people whose lives are being affected by the experience of depression. We provide safe places where people can find empathy, acceptance and understanding as they learn to manage and recover from the affects of depression. Group Support Providing support, information, resources and education in confidential, social settings.

Groups

*These groups are held in various locations: central city, east and west Christchurch. Both day and evening options are available.

Education

We run Depression Awareness Courses on a regular basis throughout the year. These courses are designed to help people understand the experience of depression.

Our free Topic Evenings also provide excellent education for people interested in depression. We hold these at various times during the year and look at issues specific to the experience of depression.
